The Cellulaze Cellulite Laser Workstation from Cynosure is the first minimally invasive surgical device for the treatment of cellulite. The Cellulaze uses laser technology to achieve long-term reduction of cellulite by targeting the subdermal structure that is the real foundation of cellulite.
The three main causes of cellulite are increases in the size of fat cells, stretched or distended connective tissue and hardening of tissues. The Cellulaze laser is used to treat these causes where they form, under the surface of the skin. The laser shrinks lumpy pockets of fat and increases the elasticity and thickness of the skin. Cynosure claims this can be achieved in a single Cellulaze treatment.
The Cellulaze device gained FDA approval in the United States in early 2012 and it is currently approved in the European Union.
